Fashionistas Forecast Hottest Back-to-School Fall Fashions
Living on a college student's budget doesn't mean your only option is to scour the bargain bin for last year's leftovers. For the upcoming back-to-school season, online fashionistas have been scouring the Web for the latest styles and uncovered what fashions are sure to make it from the runway and into your closet this September.
For fall fashion 2008, thousands of online shoppers on sites like StyleFeeder.com and top fashion bloggers are predicting a big comeback for the retro-glam look. According to these fashion mavens, boots and tights will be a wardrobe staple and black and grey will dominate color schemes. Check out the top ten emerging trends:
1. Retro-glam will reign supreme. Structured jackets -- think Doris Day-- and classic fabrics like tweed or plaid will be the strongest fashion influences.
2. Boots and tights are a winning combination. Stretch your summer wardrobe by pairing your favorite boots with solid, bright-colored tights.
3. 2008 going on 1970. For a more laidback retro feel, the 70's hippie look will re-emerge. Look for wide-leg jeans, solid-colored pea coats and chunky flats or platform heels.
4. Black and grey should dominate. Mix in neutrals from the brown family along with some red, orange, navy, cobalt or plum for a splash of color.
5. Form-fitting cuts make a big comeback. Look for more fitted and form-fitting cuts because once September hits, it'll be time to put away those billowing summer tops.
6. Scarves, scarves, scarves! Fall season staples for any wardrobe, summer scarves will bulk up slightly and dominate the fall season leading into winter.
7. Sweaters with a twist. Sweater dresses -- with and without a turtleneck -- will make a big splash once the chilly fall air rolls around.
8. Back to baskets. Basket weaving patterns will appear in everything from dresses to boots.
9. Traditional accessories are in. Native American-inspired and turquoise jewelry will dominate the accessories arena.
10. Flirty and fun. For skirts and dresses, tiers and ruffles add a flirty flavor to any fall outfit.(EzineArticle.com)
