The home fashion industry's love affair with color continues as consumers are discovering that color is the essence of self-expression in the home. Research indicates that product color evokes a strong emotional response from consumers and is a key factor in more than 60% of purchases.

o Neutrals are back but they are darker than before with an emphasis on all shades of brown. The newest focus is on browns, from light to dark, on honeyed shades like caramel. Black continues but primarily as an accent. Any color used with brown looks new. Look for lots of coral and brown, teal and brown with cream.

o Shades of blue are on the rise. The newest have been heavily influenced by green, starting with aqua, robin's egg, turquoise, darkening down to teal. Lighter teal-inspired shades are combined with brown as an alternative to the spa blue/chocolate schemes so prevalent last year.

o Purples are expanding again in importance. These are red-based purples that are dark, rich and sensual.

o Metallic bronze and gold are back in a big way. This is reinforced by the new importance of the honeyed neutrals.

o Oranges influence and often completely eclipse the entire red family that was dominant for so long. Look for warm Asian rose, coral, and curry, at the dark end. One of the dominant color schemes last year was pink, leaf green and white. Newer now is coral, turquoise and cream.

o Greens, in decline for so long, are coming back if influenced by yellow. A huge success at all of the markets was spruce green with a red-based brown, honey and cream.(EzineArticle.com)

In addition to the language problems, it would be quite difficult for many travelers to travel in Japan. This article introduces six types of accommodations available in Japan which gives travelers to have a more in-depth understanding on Japan's accommodation services.

There are totally about 80,000 accommodation facilities for travelers in Japan which could be classified as Japanese style and western style. Most of the low price accommodation will not provide private toiletry and bathroom and have to share publicly. Besides, most of the owners do not know English. In general, the check in time would be around 15:00-16:00, and the check out time is 10:00.

1. Youth Hostel

There are about 400 Youth Hostel in Japan, and most of them are private-owned. Resident must be the member of the Youth Hostel or otherwise they have to pay a higher charge. In general, the Japan Accommodations cost would be around JPY 3,000 to 3,500 per night depending on the location and facilities. Most of the Youth Hostel provides breakfast and dinner with separate charges since the room has no kitchen facilities. It is suggested to contact your local Youth Hostel Association and book the Youth Hostel in Japan in advance. Otherwise, you have to pay a higher charge for on-site booking, and remember you have to bring your photo to become member.

Wholesale Urban Clothing The Newest Trends

Urban wear has now been with us for a number of years. It is an outgrowth of the hip-hop culture, and by extension, of the "extreme" sports universe. If you are a fan of hip-hop or are into extreme sports, then you know exactly what is is meant by urban wear.

Urban wear is bold, fresh and expressive of the hunger and in-your-face fearlessness of the hip hop generation. Urban clothing is distinguished by trendy looks, controversial designs and an up-to-the-minute look.

Urban Wear Goes Designer

From the very beginning designers of urban wear have been concerned with creating "designer" fashions. Just looking "urban" is not enough. New designs must be aggressive, flamboyant and in your face. Of course urban clothing must always look youthful, but at the same time most urban clothing designs have been serious in their own way and always conscious of projecting an "I got my issues" image.

newest-trends
newest-trends
newest-trends
More newest trends in urban clothing have been a bit more lighthearted with an acknowledgment that it is all a bit of a put on. As designs have migrated from the rapper-inspired and often rapper-owned design shops to more mainstream labels this is an inevitable transformation. It is difficult and disingenuous for mainstream labels to make out as though they are disadvantaged and unhappy with the status quo. They are the status quo.

Brands such as Akademiks, Rocawear and Ecko are identified with the urban clothing trend and are known for designs inspired by the street culture that gave rise to both rap and urban clothing designs. In fact many of these labels were founded by rappers themselves, in an attempt to cash in while translating their image and notoriety into their clothing designs.

Meanwhile newer companies such as Vokal have expanded the urban clothing label to include high end velour, fleece loungewear, denim, and vividly colored athletic jerseys. Another company, Baby Phat aims at creating a blend of hip hop style with more sophisticated metropolitan fashion to create a refined urban look.

This is nothing new. Co-opting fringe trends is what the fashion industry does best. It is simply trying to cash in on the way different groups of consumers follow different trends. And it only makes sense to go after people with the time and money to pay high prices to make a suitable impression.

Wholesale Urban Clothing

On the other hand, the fact that the urban clothing market is changing rapidly has resulted in the development of a significant market for wholesale urban clothing. Since urban wear designs turn over quickly and manufacturers have to stay ahead of the curve, they are quite prepared to move large volumes of last month's designs for cut rate prices.

As a result enterprising clothing merchants can buy up sizable lots of over stocked items and sell them in large quantities - often on the internet. These items go for much lower prices than you can find in most retail urban wear specialty stores.

For consumers interested in buying five or six items at one time this is ideal. It makes it possible for someone interested in changing fashion trends to replace their entire wardrobe for much less than it might otherwise cost.(EzineArticle.com)

The Mystifying and Powerful World of Japanese Fashion Designers

Many would say that fashion is an expression of the culture and soul, hence every nation has a unique reflection of its own history as well as traditions in one way or another.

Japanese fashion is no exception to this sentiment. This article will go into a few details of how it has changed throughout the years while always remaining intact in its traditions.

The Past and the Present

One of the most traditional and common Japanese fashion outfits is the Kimono; it is still worn today in more modern designs, it was also embraced by the Western nations because of its sensuality as well as elegance.

Throughout the years Japanese fashion saw very few changes but throughout the years the Kimono was a dominant part of the classic collection and consistently a part of their lives in one form or another. Another kind of Kimono is the Furisode which is worn by young women in their twenties; in Japan the age to legally drink and smoke is twenty and in order to celebrate the parent frequently offer their daughters a Furisode.

Then the Houmongi takes the stage. This is another kind of Kimono that is worn by married women and similar to the Furisode the parents will give their daughter one when she is married.

The formal Kimono is known as Tomesode and is typically worn by married women to social functions such as marriages. Additional variations include the Mofuku which is the funeral Kimono for Japanese fashion and the Uchikake is the wedding Kimono.

Last but certainly not least the Obi is the oldest form of the Japanese fashion as they are no longer in production today and rarely will you find someone wearing this type even in Japan.

Japanese Fashion Designers
Japanese Fashion Designers
Japanese Fashion Designers
Modern Japanese fashion designers generally has several categories in addition to some that are not related to clothes. The Japanese fashion known as the Kogal is translated in Japan to people who enjoy displaying their higher income by wearing expensive jewelry or clothes.

The Gangoro Japanese fashion is designed for those people who began changing their hair color and then you have the Lolita as the Gothic Lolita Japanese fashion, which is being represented by the innocent and sweet dressed (Lolita) all the way to the other extreme type referred to as punk fashion, which is known as Gothic Lolitas.

The Eternal Fashion

The world of classic fashion is eternal throughout the world and Japanese fashion has their Kimonos to prove it. The use of colors also plays a large part in the world of Japanese fashion as well as their culture as it is directly correlated to the event. Fashion not only reflects and defines an era and a place in time but also the character and personality of the person who is wearing it.(EzineArticle.com)

Catch My Drift? The Japanese Street Craze Of Drifting

A group of young Japanese cheer "Sugoi Yo" (yo, that's cool!) as the Nissan 350Z slides round the corner at a 45 degree slant, deep in the industrial sector of Yokohama - Japan's third largest city. As the smoke from the burning tires clears, the spider web of black marks on the gray concrete surface become visible, proof of the popularity of this circuit. Welcome to the world of the drifters; a subculture of Japanese who meet to test their driving skills, show off their souped up hot rods and burn a lot of rubber.

The word 'Drifting' describes a cornering technique where the front wheels of the car point in the opposite direction to the turn, resulting in the car sliding round the corner almost at right angles to the turn - effectively a controlled skid. The practice has long been used in various forms of motor spot racing, such as rallying and early Grand Prix, but it was a young Japanese boy racer, Keiichi Tsuchiya who is credited with popularizing drifting. Tsuchiya later went on to win several major motor sport titles and become a drifting legend despite having his race license suspended during his early career, due to his continuing participation in street racing.

Tsuchiya has now retired from both professional and street racing, but is revered internationally for his drifting skills, and his contribution to drifting was recently honored by his cameo performance in the street racing movie "The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift".

Japanese-Street
Japanese-Street
Today, drifting is still very popular with the Japanese Street and the DI Grand Prix is a major fixture in the motor sport calendar, but it is the culture of street drifting that has captured the imagination of many car fans across the world, and has for a large part been popularised through drifting videos [http://www.motoraddicts.com] that have been posted on the internet by drivers and their fans.

The flamboyant, crowd pleasing and rebellious nature of street Drifting has spawned several Japanese manga (comic books) that are based on the practice. Keiichi Tsuchiya is an editorial supervisor of the title "Initial D" which focuses on the world of drifting and Touge (pronounced Toe-gay). Touge literally means "pass" and has come to describe a form of racing in Japan, where drivers use narrow, winding mountain roads to test their driving skills against each other.

Street drifting has since spread around the world, and is popular in the USA, UK, Europe and the drifting craze has even reached the Middle East.(EzineArticle.com)

While considered by many as daring, outlandish and provocative, Japanese fashion has come a long way from being just about kimonos and school uniforms. Their eye-popping and flamboyant outfits have largely been influenced by Japan's huge underground club scene. Tokya and Osaka is where Japanese Street Fashion is at its best. By adopting a mixture of current and traditional trends along with foreign and local labels, Japanese youth have created their own unique blend of fashion.

Japanese street fashion has a variety of trends and styles. Youth were more elaborate in their dressing patterns and make-up. Bright colours, eccentric patterns, hand-made garments, heavy jewellery, mixing and matching jeans and tank tops with traditional wear like kimonos, is their way of making statements about their cultural influences and way of life. Lolita, Kogal, Cosplay, Ganguro are some of the most sought after styles that Japanese youth display on the streets.

Lolita is a style with many subcultures japan street fashion, such as Punk Lolita, where chains, beads, lace and wristbands are popular accessories along with pink and peach colour prints. Gothic Lolita focuses on styles emerging from the Victorian age such as dark colours, black make-up, heavy brooches, and ribbons.

The Ganguro art of dressing is similar to North American youth trying to replicate tanned and blonde celebrities and models. The look consists of light or dark tanned bodies, bleached or dyed hair, summer dresses and platforms. Their exaggerated looks and outfits, is their attempt at westernizing themselves dramatically.

The Kogal style is where young Japanese women display their wealth through various tastes in music and fashion. Wealthy parents often support young girls who are into this style. They keep themselves up-to-date with Japan's ever-growing mobile technology. They adorn themselves with big boots, skirts pinned very high, dramatic make-up and the latest in American fashion brands. Many see the growth of Gothic Lolita to be a reaction to the materialism desire that emerges with the Kogal trend.

Costume Play, shortened to Cosplay is a trend where dressing of characters from manga, anime, fantasy movies and videogames is encouraged. The Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter and The Matrix series are some Hollywood films which increased the popularity of Cosplay artists. Japanese youth styled in Cosplay attires are often seen at various public gatherings such as amusement parks, nightclubs dedicated to like-minded dressers and many high profile Cosplay parties.(EzineArticle.com)
